What types of sprayer nozzles are there? (2)

(2) Fan-shaped nozzle

Fan-shaped nozzles have slit nozzles and impact type (reflective) nozzles. After the liquid is sprayed through the nozzle holes, a flat fan-shaped mist is formed, and the spray distribution area is a rectangle.

①Slit type (also known as slot type) fan-shaped nozzle. It consists of a washer, a nozzle and a compression nut. The nozzle is provided with two half-moon-shaped grooves perpendicular to each other inside and outside the nozzle, and a square nozzle is formed at the intersection of the two grooves.
The atomization principle of the slit fan nozzle: when the pressure liquid enters the nozzle, it is guided by the bottom of the inner half-moon groove, and the liquid medicine is divided into two symmetrical liquid streams. The two flows to the nozzle hole where they merge, and they collide with each other into mist droplets and spray out. After being ejected, it collides with the two side walls of the outer half-moon-shaped groove, crushes and is restrained by it, and the guiding effect of the bottom of the outer half-moon-shaped groove forms a fan-shaped spray, and then it collides with the relatively static air to be further broken into pieces. Small droplets are sprayed on the lawn. The slit fan-shaped nozzle has a working pressure of 150~300kPa and a relatively thick droplet diameter. It is often used for spraying herbicides and insecticides.

②Impact fan-shaped nozzle. It consists of a nozzle cap, a gasket, a nozzle and a nozzle body. Its atomization principle: the pressure liquid enters the nozzle through the inner cavity of the nozzle, and the liquid from the nozzle impacts on the deflector (also called the reflector) to form a fan-shaped mist shape. The working pressure of this kind of nozzle is lower, generally 40-100kPa, and the droplets are thicker, which can avoid drifting. The advantage is: the spray angle is large (about 130°), while the general hydraulic nozzle is only 60°~90°, the spray volume is large, and it is mostly used for spraying herbicides.

(3) Impact nozzle

The impact nozzle is composed of a diffuser, a nozzle, a nozzle cap and a barrel, etc. The nozzle is made of a tapered cavity, and the outlet aperture is generally 3 to 5 mm. Its atomization principle: the high-pressure liquid medicine flowing from the spray hose reaches the outlet through the nozzle. As the cross-section of the water is gradually reduced, its pressure gradually decreases and the flow velocity gradually increases, forming a high-speed jet liquid column, which is shot to a distant place. The sprayed liquid stream collides and rubs with the relatively static air to overcome its own surface tension and viscous force, and is finely broken into mist droplets and sprayed. If the diffuser is installed to block the liquid flow, the nearby lawn can be evenly scattered and the spraying area can be increased. The impact nozzle is characterized by high pressure and large spray volume. The pressure of the liquid medicine is 1500~2500kPa, the spray volume is about 30L/min, and the maximum range is about 15m.
